This IOTA Expedition was a last minute organization by CT1CJJ José CT1ILT Filipe and LX3PM Miguel. It started on wednesday night with just a little chat with Miguel who was south to Algarve for hollidays on thursayday. Miguel lives very close to Culatra Island and as we never operated from this IOTA Group so we decided to give it a try with a last minute organized team of 2 operators + Miguel who helped us with the material and antennas.

We had no plans to operate the IOTA Contest this year because we totally disagree with the new rules about the use of any type of antenna in the Multi Single expedition category. Anyhow, having everything still packed from last years' IOTA Contest from EU167 we decided to go anyway and play with 1 element antennas.

I think this was one of the most fantastic experiences I tried, me and dad doing a multi single by ourselfs. Although it was very tyring it was a very nice experience.

We knew that we had no chance against stations using monobanders and tribanders but we still had a lot of fun.

We also want to congratulate all Portuguese teams for their participation and performances, it was very nice to see the the 3 CT IOTA groups in the air.

A special thank you goes to my mother Celeste, who sponsored and supported us in this last minute organization. Also I have to mention that without Miguel LX3PM help this expedition would not have been possible, THANK YOU Miguel.

73's to all and cu next year with a more competitive antenna farm.
